Tuesday, November 09, 2004 FAQ - Chocolate and You A Reader Writes, “I am doing a project as a spin of the book “Chocolat” by Joanne Harris. I am hoping to make a book of favorites for certain moods, similar to how the main character in the book knew the favorites of other characters based on their personalities. Is there any specific type of chocolates for specific personalities or moods? Or do you have any suggestions on where I could find something along those line.” I know that people have tried to do the reverse, using characteristics of favorite chocolate pieces to determine personality ... One such book is called Chocolate Therapy by Murray Langham, a therapist and counselor from New Zealand. Murray’s premise is that the shapes and centers that people are attracted to, as well as what they do with wrappers, provide a guide to the inner self. I have a copy of the book and it’s a light read ... and totally up to the individual to determine if it makes sense for them, sort of like Astrology. Personally, I like almost all chocolates and the shapes and fillings of my most favorite pieces are not mentioned in the book. Go figure! I guess that means that I’m not easily quantifiable.
